Virtual – Statewide Annual Parent Conference for Parents of Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

A free, two-part virtual conference for parents of children who are deaf and hard of hearing and professionals who work with their children

The Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach will host the Virtual 2024 Conference for Parents of Children Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing on two dates:

  • April 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Each date will feature two different topics.

The four sessions will cover:

  • Zones of regulation
  • Growing up Deaf
  • “Sibshops” and sibling mental health
  • Parent self-care

The conference is free and open to parents, caregivers and families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Teachers and professionals serving deaf youth are also welcome to attend.

The conference is parent-safe, meaning the topic of amplification or communication choices is not discussed. All families are encouraged to attend.
