Virtual Camp Kangaroo
Free, virtual camp experience for children and youth ages 5 to 18 and their guardians who have experienced the death of someone close to them in the last two years
AccentCare Hospice invites you to attend Camp Kangaroo on Nov. 5. Times for speakers and activities are pending.
Camp Kangaroo provides a supportive and therapeutic environment for children who have experienced the death of someone close to them. Camp Kangaroo participants will participate in fun camp activities, build relationships with one another, and receive grief education and emotional support.
The camp is led by professionals and trained volunteers from AccentCare Hospice, formerly Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care. The camp will include:
- A custom kit with supplies and instructions
- Individual support
- Virtual age-grouped sessions
- Guardian support meetings
Children and youth ages 5 to 18 who have experienced the loss of a loved one in the last two years are welcome to participate.
Children experience grief in their own unique way and may be at different places in the bereavement process. To help meet each camper’s needs, a staff member will contact you to complete an interview prior to camp.
See the Camp Kangaroo brochure and inquiry form for more details. Participants must submit the inquiry form at the bottom of the brochure by Oct. 15.
