A free in-person and virtual event for current, future and prior caregivers to learn about devices that can help with activities of daily living and maintaining independence

The Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP) and AgeLinc-Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland are hosting the Lunch & Learn program, “Maintaining Independence Using Devices for Activities of Daily Living (ADL),” on June 15 from 12 to 1 p.m.

This meeting’s in-person location is at AgeLinc, 2731 S. MacArthur Boulevard, Springfield. Participants can also attend virtually.

Participants will learn about activities of daily living (ADL) devices that can help maintain independence and help with things such as:

  • Eating
  • Dressing
  • Bathing
  • Getting in or out of a chair or bed

IATP will also demonstrate some of the newer assistive technology devices that are available.

Lunch is available for in-person attendance.

Sign up online to attend. The deadline to register is June 13 to ensure that enough meals are available.

Lunch & Learn programs are held on the third Wednesday of each month in-person and virtually. Topics focus on information related to caregiving for an older adult.
