A free, virtual autism symposium featuring national- and state-level experts,  research findings and current evidence-based therapeutic trends

Join The Autism Program of Illinois’ 2023 Autism Symposium on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This daylong, virtual symposium will feature a lineup of presentations and experts’ research findings about current evidence-based therapeutic trends.

Keynote speaker Connie Kasari, PhD, will present “An Early Intervention Model for Children with Autism: JASPER Core Domains, Evidence, and Implementation.” JASPER has been tested using randomized controlled trials across multiple implementers (therapists, teachers, parents) with children at different ages and developmental levels. Kasari will focus on new research approaches to personalizing interventions and what research can contribute to clinical practice.

National and state-level autism experts will also discuss:

  • A Collaborative Approach to Assessing Augmentative and Alternative Communication Modalities for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Enhancing ABA Assessment and Treatment Using Basic and Advanced Computer-Assisted Technology
  • Testing the Effectiveness of an Advocacy Program among Parents of Transition-Aged Youth with Autism
