Join the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO) Parent Education Resource Center (PERC) for “Transition to Adulthood: What To Do When Your Child Is Turning 18” on Feb. 22 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Suzanne Aaron, an information and outreach specialist with The Arc of Illinois’ Illinois Life Span program, will provide information and answer questions about:
- Educational post-secondary options
- Transition-related training and resources for families
- A to-do list of actions to take as your child turns 18
- Brief explanations of federal and state programs such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, home and community-based services, and guardianship/adult decision-making options
This face-to-face presentation is free and open to anyone who wants to learn more about this topic.
