Transition Fair in Freeport
Information and resources for high school districts with disabilities and their parents.
The Northern Illinois Transition Planning Committee is hosting the 2019 Transition Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 16 at Highland Community College in Freeport.
The event is for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities and their parents who are interested in learning more about transitioning from high school to college, employment and independent living.
The event will include:
- Speaker Jacob Woods sharing his personal experience transitioning from high school to college, employment and independent living.
- An introduction to Highland Community College and support services.
- A panel discussion covering the topic of transition from high school to adulthood.
- Booths to connect with area agencies.
UIC’s Division of Specialized Care for Children staff will be there to explain how we partner with families to help their children with special healthcare needs connect to services and resources.
