Open house for special needs families.

The Kankakee County NEXT STEPS Transition Team is hosting an open house/agency fair to help families of special needs students prepare for life after public high school.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Bourbonnais Public Library. It will focus on all areas of transition, including education, training, employment and independent living.

A number of organizations, including UIC’s Division of Specialized Care for Children, will have representatives available to provide information and answer questions.
