A free, virtual training and awareness event to announce Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month

Join Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and HSHS St. John’s Hospital for “The Road to Resilience: Growing Better Togethera statewide virtual kickoff and training on April 5 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. This year’s theme of “Growing Better Together” calls on all of us to support each other and focus on the positive environment we all need to survive and thrive.

This event will feature a variety of speakers including international advocate, survivor and trauma-informed care expert Tonier Cain. Attendees will participate in Cain’s virtual training on trauma, resilience and the importance of creating a trama-informed culture in our communities.

Cain has trained providers in all 50 states and works tirelessly to raise awareness about trauma-informed care around the world.
