Condition-specific camp sessions take place at Lake Hughes in California. They are designed to encourage children ages 7 to 17 to try new things and develop lasting friendships.
Children will enjoy traditional activities such as boating, swimming in the pool, woodshop and creative arts. They will also have opportunities to:
- Learn new strategies of medical self-care
- Increase their confidence
- Build friendships with peers who have the same medical conditions
The camp has a full-time medical staff and a health center. A physician is onsite at all times.
Campers must meet eligibility and specific medical criteria to be considered for camp.
