The Future Begins Today Resource Fair in Palatine
Free informational event for parents and guardians of individuals with a wide-range of developmental disabilities and mental health needs
Join School Districts 211, 220 and 214 and the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO) for “The Future Begins Today” on April 23.
The event will include a live presentation and resource fair from:
- 6 to 6:30 p.m. – Keynote presentation “Navigating Tomorrow: Utilizing PUNS for Future Planning” in Wojcik Conference Center, Building W
- 6:30 to 8 p.m. – The Future Begins Today Resource Fair in Building A, second floor entrance
Start your evening learning about the Illinois Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS). Ruth Aguilar, Senior Ligas Family Advocate with The Arc of Illinois, will provide an overview of PUNS and what you need to know.
Next, head over to the transition fair. More than 40 adult service providers and community resource agencies will be on hand to answer your questions and provide information on topics including:
- Financial planning
- Job skills training
- Post-secondary education options
- Residential and independent living options
- Transportation
- Recreation and leisure programs

Attendees should park in Lot 14 using the Roselle Road campus entrance. Volunteers will help guide guests to the fair following the keynote speaker panel.
