Contest open to Illinois artists with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities

The Arc of Illinois hosts an art exhibit as part of its Annual Convention each spring to feature artwork from Illinois individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

The Arc is holding a contest to collect submissions for the exhibit, which will be displayed on the convention’s microsite from April 19-26.

The contest rules are:

  • Artwork must be a 2-D original piece completed by an individual or group of individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Limit one piece per artist or group.

Artists have the option of donating their original piece to The Arc of Illinois for the convention’s Silent Auction. The Silent Auction and Art Exhibit will be on a special online platform for anyone to participate and vote.

Judging for first, second and third place awards will be open April 19-26.

Each participating artist will receive an honorable mention ribbon and certificate in the mail. First, second, and third place winners will receive their ribbon by mail as well.

To participate, complete the artwork submission form and return it to The Arc by March 26. You can submit the form in one of the following ways:

  • Mail – The Arc of Illinois, 9980 190th St., Suite C, Mokena, IL 60448
  • Fax – (815) 464-5292
  • Email – becca@thearcofil.org

No submissions of artwork will be allowed without The Arc of Illinois receiving this form by March 26.
