Spring Parent Learning Series: High School Transition – Illinois

A free, virtual workshop for parents, caregivers and students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to provide tools and encourage active participation in the transition process
Join The Arc of the Quad Cities Area for their “Spring Parent Learning Series: High School Transition-Illinois” via Zoom on May 4 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Parents know their child best and can offer important insight regarding a child’s strengths and weaknesses.
This workshop is designed to provide parents with the skills needed to feel confident to understand and participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
Presenter Cindy Gibson will help participants understand essential partnerships in the transition process and provide information, including:
- Tools for successful transition planning
- An IEP paperwork overview
- Parental safeguards
Gibson has worked for 22 years in education and has a passion for providing and supporting a positive learning environment for all.
