A support meeting for individuals whose sibling with disabilities has died.

There is no roadmap for grief. The holidays may be especially difficult for people who have lost a sibling with a disability. There are so many emotions that can be challenging to navigate.

Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters (SIBS) is hosting a virtual support meeting via Zoom on sibling grief and the holidays at 5 p.m. Dec. 15.

Shruti Tekwani, a licensed mental health counselor and coach, will lead this meeting. It will allow siblings to talk about their needs, how grief can show up in different ways, and how siblings can get through the holidays.

This meeting is intended for people whose sibling with disabilities has died. While the organizers appreciate that parents or providers are interested in this topic, this space is intended solely for siblings experiencing grief.

Registration is required in advance for this meeting.
