A week-long summer camp experience for youth and young adults with and without Down syndrome

PALS Programs inclusive camp experience for youth and young adults will be held July 17 to 23.

The week-long session will take place on the campus of Elmhurst University (formerly Elmhurst College), 190 Prospect Ave., in Elmhurst.

PALS refers to participants with Down syndrome as Partners. Partners are ages 12 to 17 and should be able to care for their hygiene, work well with others, and be ready for a fun and exciting week away from home. Partners are paired one-to-one with a peer.

Peers, ages 15 to 17, participate in all activities and serve as peer models for their Partners and team.

Teams spend the week together experiencing life on a college campus through a dynamic blend of unique on-campus activities and off-campus trips to explore local sites and attractions.

The cost of camp for participants with Down syndrome is $2,000.

PALS works with every participant to ensure that cost is never a barrier. Contact PALS directly for help or questions about payment options or financial aid at support@palsprograms.org.

All participants, including Peers, are encouraged to fundraise for PALS. Fundraising helps provide financial support to participants who could not otherwise participate.

No experience is needed to participate in a PALS program.  Information about PALS Programs regarding COVID-19 restrictions or other questions is available online.
