An online film festival featuring the works of over 20 emerging deaf filmmakers and their productions

DEAF, Inc. (Deaf Empowerment Awareness Foundation) is hosting the 1904 Deaf Film Festival online from Aug. 22 through Sept. 9.

The 1904 Film Festival was created to honor the inspiration and vision of former renowned National Association of the Deaf (NAD) President Dr. James L. Smith, who strongly advocated to preserve sign language at NAD’s sixth national convention during the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis.

This year’s 1904 Deaf Film Festival will honor his vision and champion over 20 emerging deaf filmmakers and their production.
