Midwest Sib Connection “Future Planning: You and Your Sib”

Join siblings of people with disabilities for this virtual Midwest Sib Connection series and countdown to National Siblings Day!

Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters (S.I.B.S.) and sibling chapters from Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin will host “Midwest Sib Connection: Countdown to National Sibling Day!”

Weekly sessions will focus on networking and sharing sibling experiences. The series starts on March 17. It will wrap up with a special National Siblings Day celebration on April 10.

The series will begin with “Future Planning: You and Your Sib” on March 17 from 12 to 1 p.m. 

Bekka, a sibling leader from Missouri, will talk about using Charting the Life Course tools with your sibling for future planning.

Bekka will walk participants through using the Charting the Life Course framework and tools to explore:

  • Creating a vision for the future
  • Promoting advocacy and engagement
  • Providing safety and security
  • Planning daily life, community living and more

There will be plenty of time for questions after the presentation.

Midwest Sib Connection will continue with “Sibling Self-Care and Stress Management” on March 24 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
