Lurie Children’s Career Fair and Resource Expo in Chicago
A free event focusing on adolescent and young adult childhood cancer survivors or patients with sickle cell and congenital heart disease to connect them with community resources
The 2nd Annual Lurie Children’s Career Fair and Resource Expo will be held on May 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event will be held at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital 11th-floor conference rooms (11-142 and 11-150), 225 E. Chicago Ave., in Chicago.
The event focuses on adolescents and young adult patients who are childhood cancer survivors, sickle cell or congenital heart disease patients.
The Career Fair and Resource Expo seeks to provide participants encouragement, time for face-to-face networking and awareness about existing opportunities throughout the community.
Event vendors and speakers will share information about:
- Employment opportunities
- Disability services and educational resources
- Personal stories and perspectives on dealing with childhood illness
- Advice on job resumes and interviewing skills
- Information on advocating for yourself in school
