In-Person and Virtual Presentation – “Knowledge is Power: A Transition to Adulthood Primer for Parents” in Plainfield
A free in-person and virtual presentation on transition to adulthood considerations for parents of a child with disabilities
The Will-Grundy Transition Planning Committee (Will-Grundy TPC) and The Arc of Illinois are hosting “Knowledge is Power: A Transition to Adulthood Primer for Parents” on March 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The presentation will be in person and available on Zoom.
Information and outreach specialist Suzanne Aaron will cover a wide range of topics dealing with transition services and programs. Suzanne’s presentation will provide information from both a professional’s and a parent’s point of view.
Suzanne’s discussion will highlight:
- PUNS
- The Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS)
- Guardianship
- Building a meaningful day
- The changing role of parents
Suzanne will also answer questions and provide information about The Arc of Illinois’ programs.
The presentation is free for parents and professionals.
