Illinois School for the Visually Impaired Transition to Independence Camp 2018
Free one-week camping adventure for youth 15-19 who are blind or visually impaired.
Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI) summer camps present an overview of current trends in an area of concentration. Have fun following a journey that uses time travel and transports you to the past and back to the present. Explore old and new ways to bring STEM activities to life. Students will learn exciting activities throughout the day and enjoy evening recreational activities such as swimming, field trips and outdoor recreation.
All camps are scheduled for June 10-16.
The Transition to Independence Camp will allow campers to learn about skills that promote successful transition to adulthood in the areas of nutrition/fitness, community involvement and recreation, independent living and employment.
Students who are visually impaired ages 15 to 19 are eligible to attend if they reside in Illinois, do not current attend ISVI, are not high school graduates and have appropriate independent living skills. The camp is free to eligible students.
