Illinois Junior Chefs Cooking Classes in Hillsboro

Free, kid-friendly cooking classes for youth ages 8 to 13

Illinois Nutrition Education Programs is offering “Illinois Junior Chefs”  in June. Participants will have the option of attending either the morning sessions from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or the afternoon sessions from 1 to 3 p.m.

Classes are at the University of Illinois Extension, 1 Industrial Park Dr., Hillsboro.

The series of cooking classes will take place on each of these dates:

• June 7 – 8
• June 13 – 14
• June 15

Illinois Junior Chefs is a great way for your child to learn basic cooking skills while having fun.

Participants will explore the different food groups using “my plate” and learn how to use the microwave and other utensils found in the kitchen. The bussing chefs will prepare two recipes during each class.

Illinois Junior Chef is kid-friendly and appropriate for ages 8 to 13.
