Young children in Illinois with spina bifida and/or mobility deficits are eligible to receive a free, custom, electric ride-on car.

The Illinois Spina Bifida Association (ISBA), Kiwanis Club of River Forest-Oak Park and NuMotion are hosting a GoBabyGo workshop on Saturday, April 20, in Lombard.

Fitting sessions will be at 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Each session should take about one to two hours. Participants will leave with their car once the child’s fitting is completed.

GoBabyGo is a program of the University of Delaware committed to all people exploring their world via independent mobility.

Eligible children will receive custom electric ride-on cars that empower greater mobility and independence.

The GoBabyGo program is open to children living anywhere in Illinois ages 1 to 3 who have:

  • Significant mobility deficits
  • Head and trunk control
  • Cognitive age of 12 months or greater
  • No severe visual disorder
  • Enthusiastic parent(s) with ability to supervise a child in a car

Cars have a wireless remote control for parent assistance.

Visit ISBA’s website to learn more about the GoBabyGo program.

Families interested in receiving a car must complete the registration form. After you register, you will receive exact details about the event workshop.
