GoBabyGo Workshop for Children with Spina Bifida and Mobility Deficits in Lombard
Young children in Illinois with spina bifida and/or mobility deficits are eligible to receive a free, custom, electric ride-on car.
The Illinois Spina Bifida Association (ISBA), Kiwanis Club of River Forest-Oak Park and NuMotion are hosting a GoBabyGo workshop on Saturday, April 20, in Lombard.
Fitting sessions will be at 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Each session should take about one to two hours. Participants will leave with their car once the child’s fitting is completed.
GoBabyGo is a program of the University of Delaware committed to all people exploring their world via independent mobility.
Eligible children will receive custom electric ride-on cars that empower greater mobility and independence.
The GoBabyGo program is open to children living anywhere in Illinois ages 1 to 3 who have:
- Significant mobility deficits
- Head and trunk control
- Cognitive age of 12 months or greater
- No severe visual disorder
- Enthusiastic parent(s) with ability to supervise a child in a car
Cars have a wireless remote control for parent assistance.
