“Friendships: The High School Years” Support Group in Dixon
Support group program for high school-aged children to learn about friendships and social skills.
Florissa is a centralized service facility for children (0-18 years of age) with development, behavioral, social or emotional needs. The facility offers the “Friendships: The High School Years” program to help high school-aged children learn social skills necessary to make and keep friends and grow in their understanding of social cues and rules across adolescence.
This group provides a safe place to talk about individual goals and struggles and is appropriate for teens entering ninth through 12th grade who struggle with self-awareness and appropriate behavior with peers, have trouble understanding social interactions or want to better understand the social world around them. Participants will also learn to recognize individual strengths that can be used in social situations and healthy use of social media and technology.
Friendships runs Aug. 24 – Sept. 28.
