Experience Camps for Children and Teens Experiencing Grief in Michigan

Free one-week camp for children and teens entering grades fourth through tent in the 2022-23 school year who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver

Experience Camps in Michigan will provide a week-long camp where kids can explore their grief and also have fun from Aug. 23 to 28.

The camp is at Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Camps, 84600 47 1/2 St., Decatur, Mich.

Experience Camps provide a safe environment where kids can explore their grief, break the isolation they may feel with their non-camp peers and have a whole lot of fun.

The camp combines the best elements of summer camp with a clinically-informed peer support model that:

• Normalizes grief
• Allows kids to connect with other kids who “get it,” creating a sense of community
• Learn coping and communication skills that are developmentally appropriate

Campers will have fun and be kids after a loss has altered that critical time in their lives.
