The symposium will be at Jump Simulation Center, 1306 N. Berkeley Ave., in Peoria.

The symposium is for patients (recommended age 12 and older), parents, caregivers and families impacted by congenital heart defects. In addition to information on the latest surgical and cath lab advancements, symposium topics will include:

  • Coping mechanisms for hospital-induced trauma
  • A panel discussion of life as an adult with CHD

Attendees may also visit a variety of agency resource tables.

Representatives from the University of Illinois Chicago’s Division of Specialed Care for Children (DSCC) will be on-hand to provide information about DSCC’s programs. Our team will also explain how we partner with Illinois families and communities to help children and youth with special healthcare needs connect to services and resources.
