Chronic Disease Workshop in Harrisburg
Workshop series for anyone with a chronic health condition or their caregivers.
Free six-week class meets every Monday evening starting Aug. 20 – Sept. 24 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Learn how to build a more effective relationship with your doctors, problem solving and eating tips. Participants will also explore an exercise routine, communicate with family and friends that share the same conditions, learn about managing medications, work on setting and achieving goals and discuss dealing with pain, frustration, isolation, lack of energy.
Developed at Stanford University, this evidenced-based self management program has produced the following outcomes:

- Reduction of emergency room visits
- Increased feeling of control of your life
- Improved quality of life
- Increased energy levels
- Significantly improved overall health status
- Reduced healthcare costs
