Chicagoland Area Adaptive Kayaking

Bring plenty of water and sunscreen and plan to have fun enjoying a morning of adaptive kayaking!

Join Adaptive Adventures for this adaptive kayaking event on Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.

On arrival, at either Busse Woods or Skokie Lagoons, you’ll be fitted in a kayak and set up with special adaptive equipment like trunk support, grip support and one-handed paddle adaptation. Specially trained volunteers will come along with you to help where needed. Once everyone is on the water, the group will spend about an hour kayaking together.

The event is $20 for individuals with physical disabilities and free for veterans with physical disabilities.

Participants must be able to follow directions and effectively communicate with or without assistance provided by themselves to participate. At this time, group size and physical touch is being limited. If you need assistance transferring, please bring a friend or family member with you who can assist.
