Chicago Deaf Awareness Day at Columbia College

Health fair focused on high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The American Sign Language Department at Columbia College Chicago is hosting Chicago Deaf Awareness Day on Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event showcases agencies and businesses with community resources for individuals who are deaf, deaf and blind, hard of hearing, late deafened and interpreters. Workshops and special entertainment will be available during the lunch hour. An afternoon panel will consist of deaf representatives from the communities around Chicago.

The event is designed for local high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing but is open to everyone who would like to attend.
