Camp Lions Vision Week in Hudson

Free summer camp for youth ages 7-17 with vision loss.

Camp Lions Vision Week is scheduled for July 21-27 at East Bay Camp in Hudson.

While many activities are identical to the Lions’ other camps, this session highlights activities that accommodate youth who are blind or have low vision.

The daily schedules are posted in large print and in braille. Activity choices include swimming, beeper baseball, horse riding, beeper archery and crafts, such as painting, beading or small handmade items. Each day is different and perfect for the creative spirit.

A beach party, dance, talent show, cookouts, songs around the campfire, pool swims, braille bingo and cards plus a wide assortment of tactile games, described videos and more fill the week.

Every cabin is one level and has a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The counselor to camper ratio is 1:4 to make Camp Lions a positive and safe experience.
