Camp Launch is a fun, innovative overnight camp for youth between the ages of 14.5 and 22 who are deaf, deaf-blind or hard of hearing. The camp offers a wide variety of activities designed to equip campers with the skills needed to successfully navigate life post-high school.

Campers will stay in SIUE residence halls with chaperones and have fun exploring the campus, taking field trips, making art projects and eating together at the Morris University Center.

Other activities geared toward helping them transition from high school to college and employment will include:

  • Job exploration and counseling
  • Work-based learning experiences
  • Postsecondary pathways and counseling
  • Fundamentals of self-advocacy
  • Understanding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA and ADAAA)

Camp Launch partners include ACCESS Deaf Services, Chicago Hearing Society, the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), the Illinois School for the Deaf and 360 Degree Academy.

To attend camp, campers must have an open case with DRS and be between the ages of 14.5 and 22 years old.
