L.E.A.P. stands for Leisure Education and Adaptive Programming. Camp L.E.A.P. is a Special Needs Summer Day Camp and is a program of adaptive recreation for individuals with disabilities offered through the Springfield Park District.

L.E.A.P. programs are for individuals from preschool through adulthood with special needs, including learning disabilities, physical impairments, behavior issues, visual impairments and multiple disabilities.

Erin’s Pavilion Camp L.E.A.P location is for campers age 13-25, with and without a disability/special needs. The camp is held weekly, Monday through Friday, from June 8 to Aug. 7. The camp day is 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Students are grouped by age into multiple classroom settings. Activities include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Daily walks in Southwind Park
  • Swimming
  • Guest speakers
  • Field trips
  • Games
  • Daily playground activities
  • Bowling and much more
