Camp Horizon Day Camp for Youth with Disabilities in Belvidere
A summer day camp program for youth ages 6 to 22 with disabilities
Join Belvidere Park District (BPD) Special Recreation for Camp Horizon, a summer day camp program for individuals ages 6 through 22 with disabilities.
This year’s theme is “Full STEAM Ahead!” Weekly sessions will run from June 2 to Aug. 15. Campers can attend full-time (five days), part-time (three days) or with summer school.
Sessions will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on:
- June 2 to 6
- June 9 to 13
- June 16 to 20
- June 23 to 27
- June 30 to July 3
“Full STEAM Ahead!” features a new theme each week. Campers ages 6 to 22 will enjoy swimming, field trips and activities focusing on science, technology, engineering, art and math, such as:
- Outer space
- Weather events
- Wacky experiments
- Water activities
- Nature
All campers will receive a t-shirt.

Caregivers must attend the Camp Horizon Mandatory Parent Meeting and Camper Ice Cream Social on May 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Campers are also encouraged to attend.
