Best Buddies Friendship Walk – Central Illinois
A walk highlighting meaningful friendships and raising awareness and funds to support programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
Best Buddies’ Friendship Walk (BBFW) is happening on April 30 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Corn Crib, 1000 W. Raab Road, in Normal.
BBFW is an event where friendship is the focus. This year’s walk will feature a wheelchair-accessible monster truck and a post-walk celebration with entertainment, food and lots of fun.
Best Buddies provides individuals with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other disabilities in the IDD community opportunities to:
- Form meaningful friendships with their peers
- Secure integrated employment
- Develop leadership skills
- Live in inclusive, independent settings
Individuals may also volunteer for the day or join a team/form a team to help raise awareness and funds.
