Free school supplies and backpacks for participating children.

The Jackson County Health Department is hosting a Back to School Health & Activity Fair on Aug. 7 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Children that participate will receive free school supplies and a backpack, while supplies last.

The fair will also include:

Vision and hearing screenings
Height and weigh checks
Free car seat safety checks by the Carbondale Police Department or Jackson County Sheriff’s Department
Dental exams, cleaning, fluoride treatments and sealants
Healthy food tips and recipes
Immunizations
Refreshments
Games
