Autism Conference 2022 – Southern Illinois
A conference on autism providing professional development opportunities and resources for families in southern Illinois
The Autism Society of Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU) and the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities (CDD) are hosting the Autism Conference 2022 on April 22 from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
The conference will be held at the SIU Student Center, 1255 Lincoln Drive, in Carbondale.
This day-long conference will be filled with learning opportunities, plenty of resources and inspiring presentations and speakers.
The morning will kick off with keynote speaker Johnathan Martinis. Martinis is passionate about helping participants understand what supported decision-making is and how students, educators and families can work together to put the student in control of their planning and decision-making for their education and their adult life after high school.
Sessions will also cover topics including:
- Challenging behaviors
- Individualized Education Program (IEP) rights
- Evidence-based strategies
- Transition from high school
- Illinois Autism Insurance Coalition

The conference cost is $50.
Register online to attend the conference. Information is also available on the Autism Society of Southern Illinois website.
Every participant will receive a certificate of attendance. Teachers can use this certificate to earn professional development points (PDPs). Continuing education units (CEUs) are also provided by SIU School of Medicine.
