Annual Options Fair – Downers Grove

A free, regional event for families of students with disabilities to explore next steps and make connections

Downers Grove South High School, in partnership with 20 additional local high schools, invites you to the “Annual Options Fair” on Oct. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The fair will be at Downers Grove South High School, 1436 Norfolk St., Downers Grove.

Are you and your child exploring transition and the options available following high school?

The Option Fair is a regional post-secondary planning night for families of students who have either a 504 Plan or an Individualized Educaiton Program (IEP). It’s an opportunity to learn about resources from a wide variety of organizations and make connections with:

• Colleges
• College-experience programs
• Certificate/trade schools
• Adult agencies

Presentations will include:

• 6:10 to 7 p.m. – College Experience Panel
• 6:45- to 7:15 p.m. – Understanding the Alphabet Soup of Government Benefits
• 7 to 7:50 p.m. –  College Accommodations ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) vs. IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)
