Adventures Unlimited – Chicagoland

A free respite program offering fun adventures for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)

Adventures Unlimited, a program of Envision, is hosting an outing to Medieval Times on May 28 from 2 to 8 p.m. Participants will meet at Envision’s Westtown Training Center, 1801 N. Spaulding, and travel together to catch the 4 p.m. show.

Everyone will have fun feasting and exploring the castle. Participants will also enjoy being crowned with the colors of the kingdom, meeting the fair maidens and knights and cheering for their favorite brave knight as he jousts and competes in hand-to-hand combat.

Adventures Unlimited is a free, state-funded respite program that provides engaging programming and events for participants with I/DD and respite to caregivers.

The program is open to adults and children as young as 4 years old who have a documented developmental disability and are not enrolled in any other Medicaid waiver program. Events focus on fitness, art, media training and food preparation activities.

COVID-19 protocol at events includes temperature checks of all participants, required face masks covering the nose and mouth, and observing 6 feet of social distance.
