A summer camp focusing on budgeting, cooking and other skills needed in adulthood for individuals ages 16 to 22 who identify as neurodiverse or autistic

Join The Autism Program (TAP) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for “Adulting” Summer Camp on July 17 to 21 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Adulting summer camp will focus on learning how to live independently. Participants will practice and learn critical living skills so when they are ready to move out, they can do so with confidence in their abilities.

Participants will design a weekly budget, plan for and cook a healthy meal, and learn how to navigate the medical system.

They will also learn about:

  • Home maintenance
  • Important relationships
  • Money management
  • Safety, health and well-being
  • Life in the community and recreation
  • Choice & decision-making.

The camp is open to individuals ages 16 to 22 who identify as neurodiverse or autistic.
