Accessible Family Yoga and Mindfulness Workshop in Moline
A free, in-person opportunity for family members, educators, social workers, and other professionals to learn about basic inclusive yoga and mindfulness practices for young children
You’re invited to StarNet Regions I & III’s “Accessible Family Yoga and Mindfulness” workshop on July 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
This workshop will feature basic, inclusive yoga and mindfulness practices.
Presenter Lindsay Meeker will cover:
- Learning and applying basic yoga and mindfulness practices
- Understanding the research on how mindfulness-based strategies can improve self-regulation, confidence and body awareness for young children
- Exploring multisensory breathing techniques
- Implementing self-care strategies for caregivers
Dr. Meeker is the director of the Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood Education and a professor in the School of Education at Western Illinois University. She also has years of experience working with multilingual learners and in special education.
