Engaging, hands-on STEAM activities for children with visual impairments in a virtual format

The Illinois School for the Visually Impaired is hosting its first virtual summer camp program.

The camp will run from June 3-5. It will feature creative, hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) activities.

Camp counselors will interact with students in real-time through live-streaming classes.

Eligible campers must:

  • Be Illinois residents
  • Have a pre-determined vision loss that affects their learning ability
  • Meet the camp’s grade-level requirements (entering third through eighth grades)
  • Able to access Zoom meetings

The camp will have a morning session for students going into third through fifth grades and an afternoon session for students going into sixth through eighth grades.

Fill out the online camp registration form to sign up.

The school will accept 25 campers for each of the two groups (50 campers total). Campers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration will close on May 10.
