Presenter Karen Doyle Buckwalter, LCSW and Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor (RPT-S), has more than 30 years of experience working with children and families experiencing major mental health crisis situations.
Karen’s presentation will guide participants through:
- The difference between using play as part of therapy versus engaging a child in play therapy
- The different play therapy theories and their uses
- Determining what play therapy models are most appropriate for clients
- Recognizing the differences between parent consultation in play therapy and parent involvement in play therapy sessions
