Event Type

A free webinar for parents, caregivers and professionals exploring the impact of grief on children and their mental health in rural communities

Join the National Alliance for Children’s Grief on Zoom for “Unique Challenges of Supporting Bereaved Children in Rural America” on Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Rural America is facing a growing mental health crisis—strained resources, rising suicide rates and an overreliance on medication. Compounding this is the staggering number of children who are grieving: one in 12 will experience the death of a parent or sibling before they reach the age of 18.

This session will include:

  • Examining the intersection of rural mental health and children’s grief
  • Discussing specific barriers these communities face
  • Exploring innovative strategies to improve support
  • Taking a closer look at the impact in your own region
