Advocate Children’s Hospital Sibsensations
Program for brothers and sisters of children with special needs.
Sibsensations offers support for typically developing siblings of children with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and selected chronic illnesses who are ages 8 to 13.
Children meet peers with similar experiences in a fun and friendly atmosphere, where they can discuss their common joys and concerns. The siblings learn how to handle situations they all face regularly and talk about what it’s like to have a brother or sister with special needs. The program includes games, activities, crafts and age-appropriate discussion.
Sessions are scheduled from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 22, Oct. 13, Nov. 10 and Dec. 8 in the basement classrooms at the Center for Advanced Care in Park Ridge. The cost is $10 per session and $5 for each additional family member.
Registration is required. Please contact Kathryn Smart, MS, RN, CRRN, at (847) 723-9484 or Kathryn.Smart@advocatehealth.com.
