A free virtual training on special education legal rights for parents, caregivers and professionals working with children who have hearing and/or vision concerns and their families

Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach will host a live training on “Special Education Legal Rights” on Zoom on Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This training will cover the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Participants will also learn about and discuss topics including:

  • Legal rights and responsibilities under the IDEA
  • The Individualized Education Program (IEP)
  • Advocacy strategies
  • Conflict resolution and more

This free training is open to parents, caregivers and professionals working with infants, toddlers and children who have hearing and/or vision concerns and their families.
