Illinois School for the Visually Impaired Transition to Independence Camp
Free one-week camping adventure for youth 15-19 who are blind or visually impaired.
Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI) summer camps include lab and community learning activities throughout the day and evening activities, such as swimming, glow golf and outdoor recreation.
The Transition to Independence Camp will allow campers to learn about skills that promote successful transition to adulthood in the areas of nutrition/fitness, community involvement and recreation, independent living and employment.
Students who are visually impaired ages 15 to 19 are eligible to attend if they reside in Illinois, do not current attend ISVI, are not high school graduates and have appropriate independent living skills. The camp is free to eligible students.
