Monthly Sibshops in Crystal Lake
A fun, in-person gathering for siblings ages 8 to 14 of kids with disabilities
Options & Advocacy for McHenry County is hosting its next Sibshops Workshop on Oct. 7 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Groups will meet monthly on the first Saturday of each month through May 2024.
Sibshops are lively celebrations of the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of kids with special needs. Sibshops are not therapy, although their effect may be therapeutic for some children.
Activities will include:
- Games
- Making new friends
- Discussion activities
Siblings ages 8 to 14 of a person with a developmental, medical or mental health diagnosis are welcome.
The cost is $5 per child per session. A discount is available for families with multiple siblings.
