Seasons Hospice Foundation’s Camp Kangaroo in River Forest
A free day camp for children and teens ages 5 to 18 who have recently experienced the death of a loved
Seasons Hospice Foundation, in partnership with the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss, is hosting Camp Kangaroo on June 23 to 25 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Camp Kangaroo is a supportive, therapeutic environment for children and teens who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
Dedicated professionals and trained volunteers from AccentCare Hospice, formerly Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, lead the camp. It provides campers an opportunity to:
- Build relationships and feel less alone in their loss
- Receive grief education and emotional support
- Experience a wide variety of fun activities
Children and teens ages 5 to 18 who have experienced the loss of a loved one in the last three years are welcome.
Children experience grief in their own unique way. Please complete and submit the inquiry form. A staff member will contact you for an interview that will help their team prepare for and meet each camper’s individual needs.
See the Camp Kangaroo flyer with the QR Code and inquiry form for more details.
Register online. The deadline to register is June 1.
