The Arc of Illinois Family-to-Family Health Information Center and Family Voices of Illinois are hosting the “Illinois Healthcare Coverage Options and Benefits Information for People With Disabilities” conference via Zoom on Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Join experts from various state and federal programs to learn about Illinois healthcare coverage options and benefits. Session topics will include:
- Medicaid programs and the application process
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for children and youth with special healthcare needs (CYSHCN)
- Eligibility for adults with disabilities for SSI and Supplemental Security Disability Income (SSDI)
- Programs for children with special healthcare needs
- Expanded access to mental health services
- Transition planning and services
Our Director of Care Coordination, Systems Development and Education Molly Hofmann will present on the Division of Specialized Care for Children’s (DSCC) programs and how waiver services help children with medical complexity.
She will present with podcaster Erica Stearns, who serves as DSCC’s Family Advisory Council Chair and The Arc of Illinois Illinois Life Span Information Specialist. Erica is also the mother of two children on the Home and Community-Based Services Waiver for Medically Fragile Technology Dependent (MFTD) Children.
