Great Annual Rocket Launch of 2022 in Champaign

An annual, purely-for-fun rocket launch in central Illinois

Central Illinois Aerospace invites you to watch or participate in the Great Annual Rocket Launch of 2022 (GARLO) on July 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will be held at Dodds Park, north and west of the intersection of Bradley and Mattis, in Champaign.

For 33 years, GARLO has been an annual tradition for area residents and central Illinois model rocket enthusiasts. Bring your own model rocket and fly or simply join in the awe of watching hundreds of rockets take off.

The event will depend on current COVID-19 guidelines. In case of rain, the event will move to July 9. For more information, visit ciarocketry.org.
