Free Admission Thursday at Scovill Zoo in Decatur

An opportunity to visit Scovill Zoo for free on Thursdays throughout the season

The Decatur Park District’s Scovill Zoo invites you to Free Admission Thursday on June 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is free on Thursdays throughout the summer and fall.

Scovill Zoo is located at 71 S. Country Club Road, in Decatur.

Nestled in the 62-acre Scovill Park overlooking Lake Decatur, the zoo features:

• Four hundred animals spanning six continents
• An endangered species carousel and Z.O. & O. Express Train
• Playground
• Horticultural displays and gardens

Pick up tokens in the gift shop on your way into the zoo if you plan to do the train or the carousel (or both). Pack a cooler and spend time picnicking with the family. The Scovill Oriental Garden and Sculpture Park offer a quiet spot if you need to relax.

Free Admission Thursdays run through October or until the zoo closes for the winter.
