STEP Programs for Youth in Transition

Family Matters Parent Training & Information Center invites parents and providers to join “STEP Programs for Youth in Transition” on April 21 from 10 to 11 a.m.
The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) offers services to students in high school through the Secondary Transitional Experience Program (STEP). STEP is a work experience program that helps students with disabilities prepare to transition to employment and community participation.
Presenter Kristin Wagner will provide a general overview of STEP programs and will also cover:
- Which students are eligible
- What types of experiences are provided
- How those services can differ from school to school.
Wagner worked in the private sector in the areas of substance abuse, child welfare, community mental health, private practice and education prior to joining DRS.
